About the Department

The Department of Electronics & communication Engineering In a short span of time, the department has grown well with a student capacity of 60 per year in 2013. The department is well equipped with a group of highly qualified and dynamic teachers. The department has state of the art laboratory facilities to boost real-world knowledge. The students are encouraged and motivated to take up challenging projects. Summer training, industrial visit and projects are carefully planned for the students to remain updated with the technology trend. Seminars and short courses are regularly organized to update the students with the latest in education and industry trends. The department works hard towards the fulfilment of the vision and mission of the Institute.

ECE Programme

The Department of Electronics & communication offers UG Program in Electronics & communication engineering. Roland institute of technology being an affiliated college of the Biju Pattnaik University of Technology, Orissa, the programmes offered are as per the BPUT syllabus

The B.Tech program was inducted in 2001 with an intake capacity 60 Admission to B.Tech (Electronics & communication Engineering) programme is strictly through the OJEE qualified candidates, and handled centrally by the OJEE counseling process.

Departmental Activities

Campus Connect

Campus Connect is Infosys’ initiative to help increase India’s competitiveness in the knowledge economy. Campus Connect aims at evolving a model through which Infosys and engineering institutions can partner for competitiveness, enhance the pool of highly capable talent for growth requirements in Information Technology space. It is aimed at creating an effective means of backward integration into the supply chain by going into the college campuses from where the IT industry gets the people for its growth.

Faculties of CSE Department conduct various short-term programmes (STPs) and Summer Courses for the benefit of Students.

The department invites experts, senior academicians and researchers to deliver lectures at the institute from time to time.

Research Areas

The Research Cell of the department constitutes of enthusiastic and dedicated faculty members. All the faculty members are, part of the research cell and are assigned to functional groups depending on their expertise. Faculty members are encouraged to actively participate in conferences, seminars & workshops and many contribute original research articles in international journals. The students are supervised by the faculty members to do innovative projects at under-graduate and post-graduate level.
