About the department

Civil engineering is considered to be the most versatile branch among all the engineering branches. It is the branch with a lot of diversity from geotechnical science to Structural Engg., Environmental to Hydraulics, Transportation to Hydrology. Civil Engg. Can be considered as a single largest branch among all the Engg. Branches.

The department of civil Engg. Was established in the year 2010. The department has highly experienced and committed faculty members. The vision of the department is to give an exposure to build Civil Technocrats to various challenges in the profession.

OBJECTIVES
To achieve academic excellence and 100% placement assistance for the students.
To develop a department interact providing groupware tools for faculty, course and study materials for the students.
To conduct national, international conferences, seminars and workshops regularly.
To promote research activities among the faculty and students.
To equip the students with advanced technology and skills on their chosen vocation.

The Department consists of dynamic and experienced faculty members in respect of teaching as well as industry covering a wide spectrum of advanced technology. Two lab technician cater to the need for the smooth running of the department.

CE Programme

The Department of Civil Engineering offers B.Tech (CE). Roland Institute of Technology being an affiliated college of the Biju Pattnaik University of Technology, Orissa, the programmes offered are as per the BPUT syllabusThe B.Tech (CE) programme was inducted in 2011 with an intake capacity of 60 students. Currently the intake capacity is 60 students. Admission to B.Tech (CE) programme is strictly through the OJEE/AIEEE qualified candidates and handled centrally by the OJEE counselling process. B.Tech (CSE) at Roland Institute of technology has been a favourite choice among the OJEE/AIEEE qualified candidates.

Departmental Activities

Campus Connect

Campus Connect is Infosys’ initiative to help increase India’s competitiveness in the knowledge economy. Campus Connect aims at evolving a model through which Infosys and engineering institutions can partner for competitiveness, enhance the pool of highly capable talent for growth requirements in Information Technology space. It is aimed at creating an effective means of backward integration into the supply chain by going into the college campuses from where the IT industry gets the people for its growth.

Faculties of CE Department conduct various short-term programmes (STPs) and Summer Courses for the benefit of Students.
