About the department
The Department of Master in Computer Application (MCA) at 2001. The Department is concerned with the theory, design, development and application of computer systems and information processing techniques. The department stands tall and upright with a dedicated team of 10 faculty members and 2 supporting staff.
The teaching and research mission of the Department encompass a wide range of areas, including networking and distributed multimedia, internet technologies, cryptography and security, databases, data mining, software engineering, computer architecture, compilers, operating systems, programming languages, artificial intelligence, computer graphics and visualization, algorithms, parallel/distributed computing, and scientific computing.
The department of MCA undertakes projects and consultancies in industries to make the students to be comfortable with the future professional needs.

MCA Programme
The Department of Master in Computer Application offers PG Program in Computer Application. Roland institute of technology being an affiliated college of the Biju Pattnaik University of Technology, Orissa, the programmes offered are as per the BPUT syllabus
The MCA program was inducted in 2001 with an intake capacity 60 under the name School of Information Technology, Currently the intake capacity is 60 students. Admission to MCA programme is strictly through the OJEE qualified candidates, and handled centrally by the OJEE counseling process.

Campus Connect is Infosys’ initiative to help increase India’s competitiveness in the knowledge economy. It is aimed at creating an effective means of backward integration into the supply chain by going into the college campuses from where the IT industry gets the people for its growth.
