About the Department
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at Roland Institute of Technology is a center of academic excellence, innovation, and practical learning. Since its beginning in 2002, the department has been committed to nurturing technically skilled, research-driven, and industry-ready professionals in the field of electronics and communication.
The department houses modern laboratories equipped with the latest tools and instruments to support hands-on training and innovation. Labs such as the Basic Electronics Lab, Analog Electronics Lab, Digital Electronics Lab, Signal Processing Lab, Communication Lab, Microwave Lab, VLSI Lab and Microprocessor Lab provide students with real-time exposure to designing and testing electronic systems. The department also integrates simulation software such as MATLAB, HFSS, CST, Multisim, and Xilinx to enhance design and analysis capabilities.
Our faculty comprises experienced and dedicated educators and researchers who guide students in both academic and co-curricular endeavours. Many faculty members actively engage in research and consultancy projects in areas such as wireless communication, sensor networks, antenna design, robotics, and AI applications in electronics.
The ECE department maintains strong ties with industry and research organizations, enabling students to participate in industrial training, collaborative projects, and technical seminars. The department regularly organizes guest lectures, tech fests, innovation challenges, and skill development programs to foster curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving abilities among students.
Our students have consistently performed well in placements, securing positions in reputed MNCs, core electronics firms, IT companies, and public sector units. Several of our graduates are leading global tech initiatives in the roles of software engineers, system designers, research scientists, and project managers Many alumni have also excelled in higher education and research careers in premier institutions in India and abroad. Several alumni have founded startups and technology ventures in India. Their innovations are driving digital transformation of our country.
The Department of Electronics & communication offers UG Program in Electronics & communication engineering. Roland institute of technology being an affiliated college of the BPUT, Orissa, the programmes offered are as per the BPUT syllabus. The programme is strictly through the OJEE qualified candidates, and handled centrally by the OJEE counselling process.
